This is the homepage of Andy Gray.
I am a software developer by profession, a trombonist in my spare time,
an experienced offshore yachtsman, and an ecologist by qualification.
There is a synopsis of some aspects of my life for the past
62 years I've been on the Planet.
Please feel free to peruse the links above and below as they become enabled, but be patient; this
is a project I'm doing in my spare time - or when I can be bothered.
I'm an experienced software developer with over twenty five years of commercial development experience using Delphi, C#, Kotlin, and PHP together with SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
I've been playing trombone since the age of twelve. I have a varied musical background and now play for a first class Brass Band in the UK. I can still be heard on the radio in the UK, Europe, and the US regularly, playing on pop hits recorded in the 80's and other more recent recordings.
I have over 22,000 offshore miles, mostly as crew on commercial yacht deliveries. These include five crossings of The Bay of Biscay, crossing the Atlantic from the Caribbean back to Europe, circumnavigating the UK, and extensive sailing throughout the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Ionian seas. And yes, the yacht above was a very memorable delivery...
My first degree is in Ecology Conservation, and Environment from the University of York (UK). I am a
supporter of the UK Wildlife Trusts and take a very keen interest in various issues we currently face.
My final year project was studying the feeding ecology of Daubentons Bat, hence the picture.
